[Technical Column] Issue 7: "Aluminum Clad Materials" and the Story of Heat Exchangers

Introducing the manufacturing methods of aluminum clad materials and fillets!

This column discusses "aluminum clad materials" and heat exchangers. First, let me briefly introduce the manufacturing method of aluminum clad materials. An aluminum block is produced before rolling. At that time, the thickness is 40 centimeters and the length can be nearly 10 meters. This block undergoes processes such as hot rolling and cold rolling, ultimately becoming aluminum clad materials used for fin materials of 40 microns and tube materials of 200 microns, which are used in heat exchangers. *For more details on the column, you can view it through the related links. [Technical Column] Issue 8: The Corrosion Resistance of Aluminum Plates and a Discussion on Heat Exchangers

Published on why a tube with a thickness of only 0.2mm can maintain corrosion resistance for over 15 years.

This column introduces the topic of "Corrosion Resistance of Aluminum Sheet Materials" and heat exchangers. It discusses why aluminum sheet materials used in heat exchangers, particularly with a tube thickness of only 0.2mm, can maintain corrosion resistance for over 15 years, presented in two parts. Pitting corrosion, noted in the upper left, progresses in the thickness direction of the sheet and can lead to water leaks in the tubes or refrigerant gas leaks in a short period, making it a corrosion mode that heat exchangers must be vigilant about. One of the significant challenges for heat exchanger designers is how to prevent this. *For more details on the column, please refer to the related link. For further inquiries, feel free to contact us.*

[Technical Column] Issue 9: The Corrosion Resistance of Aluminum Sheet Materials and a Discussion on Heat Exchangers

Corrosion prevention methods are differentiated based on the design policy of heat exchangers and the environment in which they are used!

In this column, following the 8th installment, I will discuss how to protect a heat exchanger from perforation due to pitting corrosion and gas leaks for 15 years using an extremely thin aluminum tube with a thickness of 0.2mm. Metals each have their own electrochemical potential, and when different metals come into contact, the metal with the lower potential tends to corrode preferentially. For example, between zinc and iron, zinc has a relatively low potential, so it corrodes preferentially while iron remains unaffected during that time. This principle is utilized in the outer walls of ships, where a zinc coating is applied to the iron body to prevent salt damage from seawater. Similarly, galvanized steel sheets are coated with zinc to prevent the corrosion of iron, and they are widely used in buildings and structural materials. *For more details about the column, please refer to the related links. High-efficiency fin tube heat exchanger "LS Fin"

It is suitable for heating and cooling during the processing of industrial products.

"LS Fin" is a product where fin material for heat dissipation is spirally wrapped around a heat transfer tube in an angled shape using a special crimping method. It has a larger contact area compared to conventional fin tubes, allowing for a high thermal conductivity that enables a compact design. Low static pressure blowers can also be used, making it possible to create a cost-effective overall system. As a company specializing in custom orders, we can manufacture products according to the user's specifications for dimensions and capacity in a short lead time and at a low price. [Features] ■ Larger contact area than conventional fin tubes ■ Excellent adhesion ■ High thermal conductivity ■ Compact design possible ■ Supports short lead times and small lots *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Heat exchanger for heating and drying equipment "Plate Fin Heater"

Plate fin heaters provided by Katsukawa Thermal Engineering, a heat exchanger company! Quick response from design to delivery based on application! "Basic Knowledge and Selection Guide for Heat Exchangers" available.

Katsukawa Thermal Engineering is one of the few manufacturers in Japan that has consistently engaged in the design and manufacturing of heat exchangers suitable for drying machinery and factory production drying lines since 1934. Katsukawa Thermal Engineering's plate fin heaters are used in various industrial fields for drying, cooling, dehumidifying, and heat recovery. 【Katsukawa Thermal Engineering's Plate Fin Heater】 - The fin area is larger than that of an elofin heater, resulting in fewer tubes, making it compact, lightweight, and cost-effective to manufacture. - Steam flows inside the heat transfer tubes, while air or gas passes through the casing outside the tubes to heat the air or gas. - It can be designed to adapt to a wide range of hot air drying systems, including pollution control devices for media containing pharmaceuticals, dairy products, beverages, food, polymers, chemical products, ceramics, and organic materials. To avoid troubles with heat exchangers used in production processes and to ensure stable production, it is important to select a manufacturer with experience and responsiveness. *We are currently offering a free "Basic Knowledge and Selection Guide for Heat Exchangers." Please view it via the "PDF Download" link below. Feel free to contact us for quotes or inquiries.

Exhaust and Heat Exchanger "Bag Filter System"

Efficiently removes harmful gases such as coal dust and dioxins!!

In recent years, the regulations for the removal of dioxins and other harmful substances from the exhaust gases of waste incineration plants have become increasingly strict. In this context, the exhaust gas treatment equipment (bag filter system) from Sanwa Engineering efficiently removes harmful gases. By utilizing the features of the bag filter system, it can be introduced into incineration plants, electric furnaces for steelmaking, coke ovens, and more. 【Features】 - Effectively removes not only dust and HCl gas but also dioxins, Sox gases, HF gases, heavy metals, organic substances, and mercury. - The harmful components collected from the exhaust gases are extracted as dry dust, eliminating the need for wastewater treatment facilities. - By using a special additive to protect the surface of the bag filter, it can be used even for high-temperature incineration exhaust gases. For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Three-stage heat exchanger "Necco"

By integrating with the filtration system, liquid management and thermal management can be performed simultaneously!

Heat exchangers require a structure suitable for operating conditions such as heat transfer amount, flow rate, flow velocity, fouling, temperature, and pressure, while also considering ease of operation and maintenance. San-shin's heat exchanger "Nekko" meets all these conditions. In particular, the "heat exchange filtration unit," which integrates the heat exchanger and filter to manage heat most rationally, is used in a wide range of fields and has shown even greater effectiveness. ● By integrating with the filter, liquid management and heat management can be performed simultaneously. ● It is designed to withstand sudden steam pressure fluctuations and is resistant to thermal shock. ● Corrosion-resistant materials are used appropriately, eliminating concerns about liquid leakage. ● It has a small installation footprint and offers great flexibility in use, making it convenient.

Filtration device & dedicated heat source unit & heat exchanger

Compatible with open-air baths that have high heat dissipation using filtration devices, dedicated heat sources, and heat exchangers.

A system specialized for outdoor hot springs Generally, outdoor hot springs experience a drop in water temperature due to heat dissipation. In this case, it was predicted that the water temperature would decrease by 3 degrees in one hour, so we proposed a system that efficiently maintains the temperature and also incorporates a filtration function. Although it uses a "heat exchanger method," it combines a heat exchanger with a dedicated heat source unit and utilizes a small household filtration device suitable for the bathtub capacity. By controlling the dedicated heat source unit and the small filtration device in tandem, we created a very compact system that eliminates the need for large hot water supply equipment, unnecessary pumps, and expansion tanks. This system not only keeps the water clean at all times but also maintains a comfortable temperature without cooling down.
